1 Chronicles 16:12 “Remember the wonders He has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given”

Do you remember the prayers you prayed? Do you remember God answering your prayers? Do you remember the seeds you sowed in expectation? Do you remember the miracles God performed on your behalf? Oftentimes in the midst of it all, we tend to forget what God has done. God will send a friendly reminder for you to remember the wonders He has performed.

June 25, 2020, I received a notification to check an urgent message on my company’s portal. A statement was released informing all employees, including those who were furloughed, that another round of layoffs was in effect immediately. Shortly after reading the email, I received a call from my Director notifying me that I was a part of the group that would not be returning to work the week of July 5th. Instantly, I remembered my 1st experience of being laid off, how I felt, and not knowing what I was going to do next. Ten years later, experiencing being laid off for the 3rd time in my career, I realized this time is different. This time around I’m living and walking in my purpose. This time around I felt a sense of peace knowing God has something bigger in store for me. This time around I was aware that God prepared me for this moment 2 months prior when I was furloughed.

The next day while I was journaling, I was reminded of what I wrote down during Sunday’s church service that I believed God would do for me that week. I wrote down, “I’m expecting to step into the next level and part of my destiny”. God left me in awe! Did God lead me to what I wrote to remind me that He answered the prayer? Did He want me to remember that being laid off was the next part of my destiny? Did God need me to remember that the next level of my destiny was having faith and trusting Him in a way I’d never experienced? I was astounded because I did not grasp what I was expecting when I wrote that. What I do know is that I will remember this moment as God orders my steps, opens a new door, and leads me into this season of fulfillment in my destiny.

24 hours a day and 7 days a week, we are likely to not remembering everything we prayed or are believing God for. Situations will occur, and in those moments God will lead you to remember your prayers, the expectation, and what you’re believing God for. He wants you to remember these things because it proves His Word to be true, it shows God heard your prayers, and it encourages you to take your faith higher in Him. He wants you to remember the wonders He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given you.
