Have you ever experienced something that left you feeling disappointed? Did the disappointment turn into anger? fear? unforgiveness? and  trust issues? God has promises that are much bigger than any disappointment. The only way to receive God’s promises is to trust Him, believe, and be ready to obtain them. You may be thinking how do I know what God’s promises are? The only way to know them is by spending time with God and in His word. His word is filled with promises that he so graciously wants to bless us with. How many of us are willing, ready, able, and available to find out what they are?

Here are just a few promises:

Are you angry? Psalm 37:8-9 states “Refrain from anger and turn from wrath, do not fret- it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land”.

If you are fearful 2 Timothy 1:7 states ” For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self discipline”.

Is you heart hardened and you are unable to forgive? Matthew 6:14 states ” For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you”.

Are you struggling to trust again because of a certain situation? God’s word states in Psalms 37:3-5 ” Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and will give you your hearts desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you”.

There is no disappointment that is too big that God can’t outdo with His perfect promise. He is a good God and wants us to be blessed with His promises. Whether you are looking for comfort, courage, help, love, or wisdom God has a promise that meets your need. After weeping from a disappointment, rest assured that in the morning you will receive joy from the promise that awaits you.
