2 Corinthians 8:7 NLT “Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.”

Are you generous in your giving? Is your heart opened to being a generous giver in your church? Or maybe you’re a person who loves to give gifts to loved ones? When you give freely do you recognize the rewards that come from giving?

One Sunday morning about a month ago my sister friend texted me “Just sent $50. Can you put that in the offering for me for next week?”. I said “OMG you are so freaking amazing!”. She replied “I’m not a member but I know I love your church and all it has done for you so I will always support”. I in turn said “You’re a member when you come visit. They consider you family. I will let them know next week about the offering. And I pray God opens up the windows of heaven and pours out a blessing that you didn’t expect”. She responded “Amen, I receive it. Thank you bestie”.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, she posted a picture of her daughter who won a pageant that she just entered her in 5 days prior. Can you believe that she won without practicing?! I commented on her picture and said “That’s God sis” and she responded “OK SIS! Cause I was like Lord, I know she cant win them all so if it’s in YOUR will”. I said “But she CAN WIN THEM ALL! Because that’s what God has for her. Favor aint fair”. A few days after the post something dropped in my thoughts that I had to text her. I said “You know what I just thought about? You sowed a $50 seed into my church and last week baby girl won her pageant. Like that’s why she won because you sowed a seed and God rewarded you”. She in turn replied” You know what, I didn’t even think about that. Look at God”.

When you are a generous giver, God will always reward you. He will reward you in such a way that it is passed down to your generation. God loves when we give, because it shows that our hearts are not selfish. When you give from a place not expecting anything in return, God will reward you in ways you didn’t expect.
