Matthew 18:20 NIV ” For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them”

Do you believe in the power of prayer? Do you believe that God hears and answers your prayers? Do you believe that if someone is praying in agreement with you God will answer the prayer quicker?

One Saturday morning while I was reading a devotional and praying I received a phone call from my sister in Christ. She wanted to know if I was available because she needed me to pray with her. She said: “I need you to touch and agree with me. The word says that when 2 or 3 are gathered God is in the midst”. I answered, “Of course I can pray with you. What’s going on?”. She informed me that a friend of ours who was covering an event reached out to her requesting prayer. Our friend believed that prayer would help change the unsettled energy in the atmosphere that both she and her husband felt was off. After we finished praying, my sister in Christ said: “I was in the middle of praying 5 minutes before I called you. The Holy Spirit told me to call you. I was hoping you were available because I was going to ask you to go to a quiet place or find a prayer closet girl”.

I realized that after she and I finished praying together, it aligned with the devotional I was reading before she called me. I said: “Girl, the funny thing is I was reading a devotional titled Better Together. Look how God works. He led you to you call me so that I can pray with you!”. She responded: “That’s because God knew what you were doing. I am so thankful for you. I have a church family, but I don’t have anyone my age to call on to pray with”. I replied: “No I’m thankful that you called me. This was a reminder I needed because the enemy was attacking me this week girl! Now I know to pick up the phone to call you to pray with me”.

Not even an hour after we prayed, she forwarded me a text message from our friend that read: “Received and worked! Energy changed!!! Thanks, prayer warrior”. How amazing is the word of God! He shifted the energy in the room for our friend. He was truly in the midst of our call because the two of us were gathered in prayer. God did not create us to solely pray alone. We are better together because the power of God is evident. Yes God hears our prayers, but when 2 or 3 are gathered He is in the midst and will show up and show out. God’s power is manifested when we are in agreement with prayer.
